For information about the scan, specimen, species, as well as additional imagery, literature and links, click on the tabs located underneath the main specimen image on the page.

Movie Descriptions

When you are on a specimen page, you can click on one of the following graphics for descriptions of the different movie types.

Software Requirements

For Netscape users, version 4.0 is required, but it is recommended that version 6.0 or later is used for increased functionality. For Internet Explorer users, version 4.0 or later is required. This site will not function properly with Opera (as of Dec. 2001), and other third party browsers have not been tested. Javascript must be enabled. Movies: All movies are served in QuickTime format, and you must have the QuickTime player to view them - www.quicktime.com. Our movies include flipbook animations of the scans along all three orthogonal axes, volume rendered rotations, and occasionally volume rendered cutaways of the specimens. Note to Internet Explorer version 5.5 SP2 and 6.0 for Windows: these versions no longer support Netscape-style plugins. Because of this, QuickTime may not work. An ActiveX control for QuickTime must be downloaded at http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/qtcheck.
